汉语中反话正说如何译成英文？

反话正说指翻译过程中用肯定形式来表达原文否定意义的词或句子。英语中有很 多表示否定和半否定含义的词语，因此翻译公司译员在翻译过程中，经常可以使用这些词语来反译 汉语的否定句。例如：
a.学外语远非你想象的那般轻松。It is far from, easy to leam a foreign language as you imagine.
b.你是我最不想见的人。You are the last person, I want to see.
c.不好意思，您可以再说一*遍吗？我刚刚没有记下来。Excuse me，would youplease say it again? I failed to write it down just now.
d.他承认他和他父母之间沟通与交流还不够。He admitted there was a lack of un?derstanding and communication between his parents and him.
从以上例子可以看出，为了在保持原文内容不变，而译文更符合目的语读者的思 维习惯，在翻译时，原文的否定意义均用含有否定或半否定语气的词语表达。常用的 有：
(1)动词：fail, miss, lack, ignore，refuse，deny，overlook 等。
(2)名词：absence，failure, ignorance 等。
(3)形容词及形容词短语：few, little, free from, far from, safe from，short of 等。
(4)副词和副词短语：little，otherwise, too... to 筹。
(5)连词：unless, before, until, ( rather) than，or 等0(6)介词和介词短语：without, above，except，beyond，instead of, out of 等〇还有一些含有半否定语气的词。如seldom，barely, hardly，scarcely，rarely等。
此外，为了达到一定的修辞效果，或者使语气更委婉，也可采用反话正说的翻译法。
a.俗话说，“男儿有泪不轻弹，皆因未到伤心处”。As the old saying goes, men, only weep when deeply hurt.
此句译文简洁对称，就是为了再现汉语原文的蕴意，达到较好的修辞效果，如果 将之译成 “Men never weep，because they do not feel so sad. ” 则会索然无味。
b.奶奶昨天不在了。My grandma kicked the bucket yesterday.
汉语原文中用“不在了”委婉表达“死”的含义，对应英语译文若直接用die， 与原文风格保持不一致，故选用kick the bucket更合适一些。
当然，在通常情况下，汉语句子英译时，有时可以翻译成英语的否定形式，也可 以译成英语的肯定形式。具体选择什么样的形式，还是要根据上下文的具体语境。例 如：
a.他仍然没有弄懂我的意思。He still could not understand me.
He still failed to understand me.
b.书架上的那本书我拿不到。I cannot reach the book on the shelf.
The book on the shelf is out of my reach.
